Rani is an ISSR Shiloh Shepherd.
We had expected to get a boy puppy this time, but it seems the powers that be decided it was not to be that way and we were blessed with another girl.
She has an amazing sweet personality, with bright eyes, and one ear, which is already making a good show at standing tall. Her other ear flirts with indecision, but we are sure it will soon join the other. She is very gentle when she plays and has only just started to experiment with her teeth. Rani joins our family of four cats and one other ISSR Shiloh Shepherd who is only 7 months old herself. The two are fast friends from their first meeting and their relationship has been heart warming to say the least.
Ears
As you can see ears seem to have minds of their own and go through many stages, from up to down from hat like to windblown, which Rain, is now sporting.
What's in a name
When we went to pick up our girl, we had no idea what we were going to name her. We drove fourteen hours in pouring rain. It rained for the two days we were there and it rains almost all the way home, it was a sign. We named her Rani. My husband works has many forms from India and they have shared with him Rani Means Queen in some dialects and in this picture in my garden, she does look, as if she thinks, she is royalty.
The other side
Along with her sweet cuddly nature, there is the other side of our girl The Reigning Terror side. If any dog is where she should not be, has take something she should not have, it is Rani; and so we have fondly nick named her,"Reigning Terror".
Mud
Then one day after a summer of drought, it rain and rain and then there was MUD! The girls play queen of the mud puddle, they dig in it lie in it, roll in it, they love it. I have come to dislike mud. It is on my walls, floors, furniture... everywhere.
Bath time
Thank goodness, our girl loves bath time. What I think she loves best about bath time is getting to have her belly rubbed or any part of her body rubbed for that matter. Rani is an all about cuddle me, hold me love kind of girl.
Working girl
I am in a wheel chair part time and fully believe all dogs need a job. Rani is in training to be an alternate for my service dog Mali and she will go into training as a Therapy dog as well. I are optimistic for her, she is so smart and has such as sweet temperament.
New girl
There is another girl in Rani's life they are partners in crime and to day that crime is, they do not want to get up for puppy school.
All girls love to shop
Three girls, shopping, and they all want to go in different directions. With those great noses who can blame them?
Smoth and plush
Unlike Mali, smooth coat both Rani and Yuki will be plush coated girls. In this picture, you can just see the beginning of the begging's of some of the fluff.
4 months
Wow, Rani is already four months old. Her coat is now longer and has darkened she looks very much, like what she will look like as an adult dog, only shorter, and my baby, she will always be my baby.
Yule
Yule was fun. I made homemade doggie cookies, but maybe I should not have told Rani about the fat man in the red suit who comes down the chimney and then tried to take her picture in from of the fireplace.
Happiness is
We live in NC; and so, we go to the dog park all through the winter. This makes for happy puppies. We have five acres but it is always nice to find new places to smell.
Eight months old
There is a bit of a jump here as life rather took off on us, in the picture Rani is eight months old and hanging out with Mali in my living room.
Proud as can be
When Rani was ten months, we went to Ohio and Rani and my husband entered a dog show. There Rani took two first places and won Reserve Winners Bitch Plush Puppy, Then she took Winners Bitch Plush Puppy and Best of Opposite.
